Description of the project – goals and effects:

The aim of the Project is to create the Regional Pilot Research Center. The project involves construction of laboratory and technological facilities and retrofitting them with equipment. Project will be carried out in two areas: the first is the construction investment, the second is the purchase of equipment and intangible assets, necessary for R&D works. The goal of the planned investment is the construction of modern facility, where R&D works covering a complex of issues related to the transfer of scale from the laboratory to small-industrial and semi-industrial scale. As a result, one-storey building combining functions of a laboratory, process room and storage area will be built.

Chemical industry and implementation of R&D results in industrial plants are characterized by certain specificity. Not many industrial partners decide to take the risk of investment in new, innovative technologies, that have not reached at least V technology readiness level.
According to European Commission and the National Centre of Research and Development, level V indicates verification of components or basic technology subsystems in the relevant environment, similar to the real one. Thus, the technology can be tested under simulated operational conditions. Currently there are no such opportunities on the market. The answer to identified market need is the establishment of the Regional Pilot Research Centre which will enable the verification of R&D works conducted in the ICSO. Such an opportunity will prove the readiness level of the technology transfer into the industrial practice.

The goal of project is the collaboration between science and business and preparation of research results for commercialization. Such investment will also enable the increase of enterprises expenditures on R&D activity as the investors will gain a certain guarantee, that the purchased technological solutions may be successfully implemented.
