"New technology for boiler water chemical treatment in the energy industry"

Started in 2001 in co-operation with Rohm and Haas S.A.S. France, Lithuanian Energy Institute, Lithuania and Fachhochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg, Germany. In 2003 . Institutul National De Cercetare -Dezvoltare Pentru Energie - Icemenerg, Romania joined the project. Thus the project execution was extended till lst June 2005.

The purpose of the project was to develop and implement a new technology for water chemical treatment in energy systems in the power industry.
The idea of water conditioning consists of the continuous addition of a protective formulation into boiler feed water. The new type boilers used in various energy systems are operated under high heat load and such conditions determine the specifics of appropriate water preparation.
The new protective agent KOTAMINA PLUS! based on thermostable amines is the result of the project. It has already proved to be an excellent scale and corrosion inhibitor used in water treatment in the energy industry.
