Director of the Technologies and Circular Economy Center

Damian Kiełkiewicz, M.Sc., graduated in Environmental Engineering from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology of the University of Opole in 1998, and in the same year he started working at the Department of Synthesis and Environmental Protection at ICSO "Blachownia". He completed postgraduate studies in Research Project Management and Research Commercialization at the Kraków University of Economics, and then took part in the TOP 500 Innovators - Science Management Commercialization internship and training program organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education at Stanford University in the USA. Currently, he is a participant in the last year of doctoral studies at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice as part of the "Implementation Doctorate" program. In  2017, he served as Deputy Head of the Synthetic Resins Department, and from 2021, as Leader of the Advanced Materials Research Group. He took up the position of Director of the Technologies and Circular Economy Center on April 1, 2024.

Co-author of 28 granted patents, 4 publications and 6 conference presentations.

He has completed many research projects and implemented them into industrial practice, especially in the field of epoxy and phenolic resin technologies, polyurethanes and plant protection products. As a contractor and manager, he participated in the implementation of many projects, both national and international, under the Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe programs. From 2017, he served as Deputy Head of the Synthetic Resins Department, and from 2021, as Leader of the Advanced Materials Research Group.

He was a member of the Scientific Council of ICSO "Blachownia" and the Council of the Łukasiewicz Institute - ICSO "Blachownia" three times. He is also a member of the Polish Society of Composite Materials.
