The latest in a series of monthly in-house seminars took place on September 24. This time, Rafał Gaida and Renata Zawadzka gave presentations.
The first presentation was titled “Research Internship at Xi’an Jiaotong University (CUPOLA Project),” and documented the internship the speaker completed at the Chinese university mentioned in the title, where he worked on the topic of catalytic pyrolysis of plastics from July 31 to September 1 of this year. The work also included the preparation of a zeolite catalyst. However, the presentation was not limited solely to scientific topics; it offered a fascinating glimpse into the realities of modern China, cultural curiosities, and stunning photographs of both the historical sites visited and the people encountered during the internship. The presentation was further enhanced by a display of traditional Chinese hanfu attire.
The second presentation, titled “Project Assessment in Light of the GDPR (Planning, Proposal, Implementation),” addressed issues related to the protection of personal data used and collected during project implementation. The clear guidelines presented during the presentation are intended to help project managers assess whether and to what extent the GDPR applies to their work and the data they collect, as well as how to handle such data during and after the project’s completion.
