May in-house seminar

reading time: 3 min

The in-house seminar held at the institute on May 27 this time was devoted to a single topic, presented by Joanna Bak, M.Sc. from the Engineering and Modeling Department. Her presentation was entitled “TRL – Technology Readiness Levels. Assessment of development and implementation of new technologies”.

Technology Readiness Level (TRL) is a universal tool for determining and comparing technology maturity. It is a nine-point scale that describes the development of a solution – from early concept and basic research to a fully implemented, proven system operating in real-world conditions. Knowing this is crucial for researchers working to ensure that their technologies will ever find practical application.

The second part of the presentation was devoted to issues related to the description of the technological process (OPT), which defines how to prepare documentation of chemical technologies at different stages of their development (TRL II-VI). Its purpose is to standardize the form and content of project documentation and to enable assessment of the technology’s implementation and commercial potential.
