Technology characteristics:

The process enables the production of heat shrinkable products, including grades that are adapted to work against copper and/or flame retardant grades. The technological process of manufacturing heat shrinkable tubing consists of three basic phases:

  • forming of the product by extrusion,
  • cross-linking of the product by electron beam,
  • blowing the tubes to obtain a diameter 200-300% larger than the diameter of the tubes obtained in the extrusion phase, and then fixing this dimension by cooling.

Product application:

The use of polyolefin heat shrinkable products is very wide. They are used, among other things, as electrical insulating materials, components of cable fittings, tapes protecting the joints of cables, pipes and other installation components. They can be used in systems operating at elevated temperatures, e.g. in the immediate vicinity of motors or other components emitting significant amounts of heat.

Product advantages:

  • high resistance to thermo-oxidative ageing,
  • high level of flame retardancy,
  • can be used in contact with copper, which is known to be destructive to many plastics.
