ABOUT US

Łukasiewicz Research Network - Institute of Heavy Organic Synthesis "Blachownia" is an R&D center with over 70
years of experience in chemistry and material science.
Our research is dedicated to advance Circular Economy principles through the development of innovative
processing technologies for renewable raw materials.
We are committed to fostering close collaboration with industry partners, engaging in R&D consortia and offering
advisory services.
Our highly skilled team utilizes cutting-edge equipment to facilitate the production and analysis low-scale
chemicals and environmentally-friendly products from sustainable resources.
We are eager to contribute to proposals and collaborate on projects related to the chemical processing of
renewable materials, with a focus on creating valuable bio-derived products including polymer additives,
lubricants, coating materials, bio-fuels, and more.

OUR IDEA

We propose collaboration in the synthesis and utilization of novel functionalized biocomponents derived from
lignocellulosic raw biomass (such as waste lignocellulosic biomass, fibers, lignin etc.) which can be incorporated
into various composite material technologies as bio-derived additives. The key advantages of these new
biocomponents lie in excellent biodegradability and enhanced compatibility with other components, such as
polymer matrices. These innovative biomass-derived biocomponents represent valuable elements within biobased
value chains, facilitating the processing of lignocellulosic biomass into new biomaterials.
We offer our experience in synthesizing new functional biomaterials derived from lignocellulosic biomass, as well
as chitosan, starch and other renewable raw materials. Specifically, we extend partnership opportunities in
developing methods for processing biomass into multifunctional additives tailored to diverse functional
biomaterials.
We are actively seeking project partners or forming consortia to participate in this call.
