Specialty Formulations Research Group

Specialty Formulations Research Group

The Group conducts research and development in two main areas: technologies for industrial specialty products, and the chemistry and technology of cosmetics and detergents. In practice, drawing on expertise in colloid chemistry and organic synthesis, we design, manufacture, and evaluate the quality of products within the areas listed below.

Areas of Specialization:

I. Industrial Technologies

Lubricants and Process Fluids:

  • Technologies for producing biodegradable lubricants: lubricating oils, emulsifying and non‑emulsifying oils, greases, and additive packages,
  • Technologies for obtaining fire‑resistant hydraulic fluids and lubricating‑cooling fluids for metalworking used in the machinery and metal industries, including emulsions, microemulsions, and solutions,
  • Technologies for producing low‑freezing fluids for the automotive, aviation, and installation industries,
  • Technologies for manufacturing cooling fluids for electronic devices, including dielectric cooling liquids,
  • Selection of corrosion inhibitors for process fluids,
  • Evaluation of process fluid properties,
  • Development of formulations incorporating nanomaterials.

Wax Dispersions:

  • Technologies for producing coating-forming dispersions based on waxes, including natural waxes, for the packaging industry,
  • Wax dispersions for hydrophobization of wood‑based boards,
  • Evaluation of wax dispersion properties.

Nanomaterials:

  • Development of micro‑ and nanoencapsulated systems,
  • Technologies for obtaining functionalized nanomaterials: carbon‑based and silica‑based.

Other Specialty Products:

  • Technologies for obtaining formaldehyde‑free melamine resins for various applications,
  • Technologies for producing hardeners, wetting agents, dust‑suppression agents, and release agents for the wood‑based panel industry,
  • Technologies for producing hydrophobizing agents,
  • Technologies for producing thickening and softening agents,
  • Technologies for producing cleaning and washing agents, including biocidal products,
  • Development and testing of other specialty products.

II. Cosmetic and Detergent Technologies

Cosmetics and Detergents:

  • Technologies for obtaining raw materials used in cosmetic and detergent production,
  • Development of extraction methods and evaluation of the biological activity of new bioactive compounds derived from renewable plant sources for use in cosmetic products,
  • Physicochemical studies of colloidal solutions,
  • Development of formulations for cosmetics and detergents,
  • Development of technologies for producing new forms of cosmetics and detergents.
