Biobased Resources Technology Research Group

Biobased Resources Technology Research Group

The research group specializes in developing technologies for processing renewable raw materials to produce chemicals, polymer additives, components for coating materials and polyurethane foams, base lubricating oils, liquid biofuels, and low‑tonnage specialty products. As a priority, the group delivers innovative solutions that support a sustainable economy by minimizing the environmental impact of technologies and promoting the efficient use of natural resources.

Areas of Specialization:

  • processing renewable raw materials into products and intermediates for industrial chemistry, including custom synthesis, process scale‑up, and development of technological concepts,
  • application of renewable raw materials (including crude and modified vegetable oils) for the production of environmentally friendly components for plastics, coating materials, and lubricants,
  • research on the utilization of waste and by‑products from various industries, including the oleochemical, food, and biofuel sectors,
  • production and application of new‑generation heterogeneous catalysts (ionic liquids, organic–inorganic catalysts) for converting vegetable oils and carbohydrates into products for various applications,
  • development of new sorbent materials based on renewable resources,
  • synthesis (development of production technologies) of new functional biocomponents derived from lignin,
  • production of biofuels from plant‑ and animal‑based raw materials of various origins,
  • consulting and expert assessments.
