Project Objective:
The objective of the research in this project will be to investigate the biodegradability in a specific soil environment of selected new coating materials based on natural polymers that could serve as coatings for fertilizers. The literature on this subject lacks studies evaluating the biodegradability of modified natural polymers in a soil environment as a function of water content, particularly when that content exceeds 60% of the soil’s water-holding capacity—that is, under practically oxygen-deprived conditions.
