Novel binders for wood-based materials dedicated to modular constructions

PROJECT CO-FINANCED FROM THE STATE BUDGET
Beneficiary name: Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Heavy Organic Synthesis “Blachownia”
Agreement number: 2/Ł-ICSO/CŁ/2021
Project value: 945 281,25 zł
State budget contribution: 756 225,00 zł
Duration: 01.06.2021 – 30.11.2022
Project realized within consortium with following members:
Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Heavy Organic Synthesis “Blachownia”
Łukasiewicz Research Network – Poznań Institute of Technology
Project aim:
The subject of the project is the elaboration of novel wood-based materials for modular constructions. The two main tasks within the project are: firstly, to elaborate the method to obtain the resol phenolic resin based glue composition for plywood, in which the phenolic raw-material will be partially substituted with lignin; secondly, to elaborate oa formaldehyde-free melamine resin binder for construction particle boards. The above mentioned resins will be produced basing on chemicals less toxic than formaldehyde.
