Basic ionic liquids

Basic ionic liquids

Technology chracteristics

New types of basic ionic liquids derived from cyclic guanidine and amidine derivatives are potential catalysts in a range of reactions using basic catalysts such as aldol condensation, Suzuki coupling, Michael addition, Heck, Knoevenagel, oxyalkylation, etc.

Application of products:

Ionic liquids with alkaline properties are innovative high-tech products with high added value. They can be used:

  • as catalysts in transesterification processes,
  • in chemical processes requiring efficient alkaline catalysis,
  • in the synthesis of products for which particularly mild parameters must be applied, e.g. in pharmaceutical chemistry,
  • as absorbents used in the absorption of carbon dioxide,
  • as solvents.
