{"id":74179,"date":"2026-04-16T07:43:32","date_gmt":"2026-04-16T05:43:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/icso.lukasiewicz.gov.pl\/wlodzimierz-kotowski-traffic-circle\/"},"modified":"2026-05-29T13:43:11","modified_gmt":"2026-05-29T11:43:11","slug":"wlodzimierz-kotowski-traffic-circle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/icso.lukasiewicz.gov.pl\/en\/wlodzimierz-kotowski-traffic-circle\/","title":{"rendered":"W\u0142odzimierz Kotowski traffic circle"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-post\" data-elementor-id=\"74179\" class=\"elementor elementor-74179 elementor-73922\" data-elementor-post-type=\"post\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1867ee6 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"1867ee6\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ca1e5c0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ca1e5c0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>By resolution of the K\u0119dzierzyn-Ko\u017ale City Council on March 31 this year, the traffic circle at the intersection of Szkolna and Zwyci\u0119stwa Streets will bear the name of W\u0142odzimierz Kotowski, an outstanding scientist, extremely meritorious to our city, and long-time director of the institute, who died last October. <\/p><p>Professor W\u0142odzimierz Kotowski was for many years president of the &#8220;Blachownia&#8221; Chemical Plant, to which he was seconded in 1964, then headed the Mazovian Refining and Petrochemical Plant in P\u0142ock, to return to K\u0119dzierzyn in 1976 and take up the position of general director of the then &#8220;Blachownia&#8221; Institute of Heavy Organic Synthesis, which he remained until 1985. He later began teaching and research work at the Higher School of Engineering (today&#8217;s Opole University of Technology), where he first became vice-dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and served as rector from 1987 to 1990. His achievements include 9 monographs, 52 patents and nearly 400 scientific and popular science publications.
