At present, wastewater treatment systems are not yet adapted to effectively remove this type of pollution. They penetrate into the soil and surface waters mainly through untreated sewage. New European Union regulations require sewage treatment plants to implement a multi-stage treatment system that includes monitoring and removal of emerging pollutants.   <\/p><p>The project falls under Priority 1.2 A more coordinated approach to environmental protection in the Czech-Polish border region. It provides for the monitoring of newly regulated substances in treatment plants on both sides of the border, as well as the development of effective methods for the elimination of selected micropollutants.<\/p><h3>Expected results:<\/h3><p>The work carried out in the project will enable cross-border exchange of knowledge on pollution levels and reducing their presence in wastewater. This will facilitate the identification of effective technologies and the development of the potential of wastewater treatment plants on both sides of the border.
